Activity is high at Thor’s smolt facility, as the first batch of 412,000 eggs, laid on 22 May, has now hatched.

A second shipment of 800,000 eggs is expected within days.

Thor plans to begin first‑feeding the initial group in Hall A at the end of July. Preparations are well underway, including finalising internal systems and completing infrastructure.

Meanwhile, construction of the grow‑out hall continues. Roofing has been installed over the large tanks, allowing electricians and plumbers to begin work. In the technical room, incoming water is disinfected with UV light, and large heat exchangers and heat pumps are being installed to maintain precise temperature control in both Hall A and Hall B.

Alongside technical development, Thor is strengthening its workforce. Interviews with numerous applicants are ongoing, and the company expects to significantly expand its smolt‑production team in the coming weeks.
